History
From the discovery of some rests of a Roman Villa on the Brescia side we can to understand that the island was lived already in roman epoch.
In the middleage the island of Monteisola is passed under the Longobard control that put it under management of monastery of Saint Salvatore (Today Saint Julia Museum)in Brescia.
And were the monks than installed on the island the production of nets, than will make of the Monteisola the biggest producer in the world until the 1970 when they will be overtaken from the Japan.
With the fall of the Holy Roman Empire the Monteisola Island so how the much part of the north-east of Italy will go under the Republic of Venice.
